FAQ

It is a big step to leave your home country and start a new life in Germany. We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions for you and provide you with answers.

Accommodation

Is there any help with finding accommodation?

Yes, of course. It is even the case that furnished accommodation / flats are provided. The cost of accommodation is subsidised.

Payment

What will I earn?

You will earn a different salary before and after the recognition of your qualifications. You will be classed as an assistant before recognition of your qualifications, for example, and earn a gross basic salary ranging from 2,200 to 2,400 euro. There will also be allowances of varying types and amounts depending on your employer.
After recognition of your qualifications, you will be classed as a skilled worker and earn a higher gross basic salary of between 2,600 and 3,200 euro. There will also be additional pay for work on Sundays and public holidays and for shift work. As a general rule, you will also receive a 13th monthly salary.

Recognition of qualifications

Will my qualifications be recognised in Germany?

Applicants from outside the EU will need to undergo a qualification recognition procedure. We will assist you in the process and take care of all the necessary steps. Qualifications gained in the EU are usually recognised in Germany without the need for further action.

Specialist fields

Will I be allowed to work in my specialist field?

Yes, of course.

Language

Do I have to be able to speak German?

Yes, you have to! We will arrange the online German course for you. We cover the costs of the course and the various exams leading to the B2 certificate.

Family reunification

Will my family be able to join me?

Your family will be able to join you as a general principle – this is even the case for non-EU citizens – and we will of course assist in this process. We will also help with the process of finding a job for your partner.

Support

Will I receive assistance on arrival?

Yes! We will organise your entry into the country and arrange for you to be picked up at the airport / train station. We will also help you in the first few weeks with all the administrative formalities, with the processes of taking out insurance and opening a bank account, and with other everyday tasks.

Expenses

What expenses will I incur?

We will cover all the costs you incur until you start work. And we really mean ALL the costs! These include the German course, translation costs and entry into Germany.
